Secretary Gates joined troops as part of the DFW Airport’s renowned “Welcome Home a Hero” program. .


Secretary Gates joined troops as part of the DFW Airport’s renowned “Welcome Home a Hero” program. DFW Airport was pleased to welcome the Secretary to International Terminal D as more than 200 troops flew in for a well-deserved, two-week R&R trip to see family, friends and loved ones.

The Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is one of only two in the United States to host USO R&R flights. To date, these flights have brought nearly 500,000 troops home to visit their family and friends.
