Home to over a dozen different craft breweries, micro distilleries, and wineries, Lake County is gearing up for Pig and Whiskey 2014. During the festival you'll have the opportunity to sample over 50 whiskeys or visit the Cleveland Cocktail Corner, or enjoy a cold beer from one of the multiple awarding winning breweries.
In fact, Lake County's brew masters have won awards at Ohio Brew Week, the International Beer Fest, and the World Beer Championship. And, local find, Seven Brothers Distilling Company won first prize in the COSE Small Business Pitch for their unique brewing concept and hand-designed equipment.
Prefer wine? The local wineries have also won their share of awards at the Pinot Noir Shootout, the Pinot Noir Summit, Riverside International Wine Competition, Grand Harvest Awards, San Francisco International Wine Competition, Tasters Guild International, Great Lakes Wine Judging, and many other competitions.
Many folks join the Pig and Whiskey for the mouth-watering meats cooked up by local restaurants. From great BBQ to pull pork, and ribs, there will be plenty of tasty selections to dig into at the festival.
Rock fans can also get their groove on with the national recording artist, Uncle Kracker, and enjoy other entertainment, or catch the Cleveland Browns in action. Or, work off all that tasty food with a round of golf at the Quail Hollow Resort that is one of Ohio's top golf resorts with two designer championship courses.
Other must-see sights to experience while in Lake County is the Holden Arboretum, which is home to over 120,000 varieties of trees and plants. While out touring Lake County make time to admire the stunning architectural treasures along Millionaires Row, where some of the homes back to 1492 England.
